Wholeness in Christ: Integrating Theology, Psychology, and Neuroscience for Holistic Healing - Written by The Mournful Peacemaker 04/24/2025

Ezekiel 36:26 states: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." This verse, according to the ESV Bible, signifies a spiritual transformation, promising the Israelites a renewed heart and spirit, replacing their stubborn, hardened hearts with hearts responsive to God's will. This is a promise of restoration and a new covenant relationship with God.

Abstract

This essay explores the intersection of Christian theology, psychology, and neuroscience to understand how addressing sin and acknowledging the spiritual realm are essential steps toward holistic healing in Christ. By examining the concepts of epigenetics, neuroplasticity, and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), we delve into how spiritual denial and unresolved trauma can manifest as mental and physical health disorders. The integration of scientific insights with biblical principles offers a comprehensive approach to healing that encompasses the body, blood, and brain.
